After winning the prestigious Art Fund Museum of the Year 2020 and an exciting rebrand, Towner Eastbourne were looking for a new website that created a seamless digital extension of the Towner experience. Proud of their unique location in Eastbourne where the coast and South Downs meet, Towner Eastbourne wanted the website to reinforce their locality and connection with the surrounding environment. To help this we created a series of animated widgets that pull local data feeds to help ground the gallery – sea temperatures and the weather are of particular local interest.

The gallery puts on exhibitions of national and international importance showcasing exciting and creative developments in modern art, they collaborate with individuals, communities and organisations to deliver an inclusive, connected and accessible public programme of live events, film and learning. They wanted to be able to showcase the breadth of activity offered by the gallery. Our solution was to create a homepage that acts as a ‘visual notice board’, allowing audiences to see and engage with the entire programme, including film and other events in their new cinema, bringing the online channels together in one place.
