An ambitious new exhibition at the Royal Pavilion, curated by Dr Alexandra Loske FSA (colour historian and curator of the Royal Pavilion) Colour unveils the extraordinary role of colour in the building’s past and its ongoing influence on our emotions and cultural narratives today. Visitors are invited on a chromatic promenade through the Regency palace’s famed interiors, brought to life through vivid installations, interactive displays, and a programme of workshops designed to engage new audiences and ignite fresh conversations about the power and symbolism of colour.

THE CHALLENGE
Brighton’s Royal Pavilion is one of the city’s most famous and photographed landmarks, yet many visitors never venture beyond its striking exterior. The challenge was to break this pattern by encouraging deeper exploration of the Pavilion’s interior, attracting new and more diverse audiences, and reasserting its relevance within both the national and international tourism landscape.

OUR SOLUTION
Inspired by Georgian colour theory, our dynamic exhibition identity takes a playful approach to the traditional colour wheel, drawing out the rich colours and textures found within the Pavilion and placing them boldly at the forefront. Fittingly for a celebration of colour, the identity and campaign are intentionally bold, visually striking, and unapologetically vibrant – designed to capture attention and spark curiosity at every touchpoint.
